2023 CB Quick Hitters
Four Players are currently playing at an extension level right now.
Admittedly, along with linebacker and safety, cornerback have some of the highest variance between my projections and actual contracts. Each of my three time-horizon projections run an r-squared of just over 0.5. But using all three, along with contractual comps I feel fairly confident with the current values of each player profiled here.
Christian Gonzalez - New England
Due to his lost 2023, Jaycee Horn is the obvious comp for Gonzalez. At a $28.5 million APY he would be the third-highest paid corner in the NFL based on current contracts. But there is ample upside for Gonzalez to vault himself beyond Sauce Gardner and Derek Stingley Jr.
